How to use AnsGrape, from your first three steps to what to do when something goes wrong. The same guide is built into the extension.
Get started in 3 steps
It takes about two minutes from sign-up to your first answer.
- Log inEnter the 6-digit code we email you, or use Google or a passkey. There's no password to create.
- Confirm your mobile number (once)This helps prevent misuse, and we don't use it for anything else. Pick your country code (+81, +1 …) and enter the code you receive.
- Pick a problem and see the answerSelect text on the page, or draw a box around an area, and the answer appears on the spot.
Four ways to get an answer
Choose whichever is easiest for the kind of problem you have.
- Select textSelect text on the page and a small bar appears. Choose Solve, Hint, Explain, Translate or Summarize.
- Draw a box to solveFor problems in images, graphs or diagrams, open the grape button at the bottom right, choose “Draw a box”, and trace around the problem. The captured image is shown above the answer as a preview (click it to enlarge).
- Solve from the screenWhen you can't draw a box (a scanned PDF or an image), use “Solve from the screen” to send everything you can see.
- Ask AIOpen the side panel with the grape button and ask in a conversation. You can attach photos, PDFs and Word files, turn on web search (the globe), and use Genius for hard problems.
How to read an answer
The answer always comes first.
- Answer and stepsThe green check card is the answer, and the steps follow below it. Even when the explanation is long, the answer card stays at the top.
- ConfidenceHigh, medium or low shows how sure the answer is. When it's low, please check it yourself.
- Checked by another AIA second AI solves the problem again. If the two disagree, the answer is recalculated and corrected. Questions that can't be checked (essays, opinions) don't show this.
- If you find a mistakePress 👎 — it helps us improve. You can also solve it again more carefully with Genius.
Handy tips
- Choose where answers appearIn settings, choose whether answers appear in a bubble on the page or in the side panel.
- ShortcutsYou can use the keyboard too. Check or change the keys under your browser's extension shortcuts.
- Sites where you don't want itUse “Don't use on this site” in the bottom-right button to hide it site by site.
- Dark mode and text sizeChange the look under “Appearance” in settings.
- Google search resultsWhen you search a question on Google, an AI answer card appears beside the results (you can turn it off in settings).

Questions and plans
- Free to startThe free plan has a daily limit on questions. You can see the numbers and what's included on your account screen.
- Unlimited ♾️On the Max plan, normal questions are unlimited. Please use it within the fair use provisions of the Terms of Service.
- DropsDrops are used one at a time after your plan's questions run out, and stay valid for 60 days from the day they're added. You can also earn them for free by inviting friends and completing challenges.
- Promo codesIf you have one, enter it under “Promo code” on the account screen. It unlocks perks such as Drops or a free period on a plan.
If something goes wrong
- The bottom-right button doesn't appearReload the page. If it still doesn't show, check in settings that you haven't turned it off for that site.
- I can't log inRemove the extension once and add it again. Your account and data are kept as they are.
- The answer is wrongPress 👎 and try again with Genius. If the problem is hard to read in the image, draw the box a little bigger and try again.
- The image can't be readDraw the box around just the problem, with a little room to spare. Zooming in on the page first makes the text clearer.
- Still stuck?Please contact support.
Using it safely
- What is sentOnly the text or image you select is sent, only when you act, to produce the answer. The page URL and title are not sent.
- Not used for trainingYour questions and answers are never used for AI training, advertising or sold to third parties.
- AI can make mistakesCheck important things with your textbook or teacher.
- School rulesPlease follow the rules of your class and exams.
